About the Job
We are a well-established, fast-growing transportation company seeking an experienced Transportation Account Manager to help drive our continued growth.

This is an in-office and on-the-road position reporting directly to the CEO. You will represent both our asset-based fleet (company-owned trucks and trailers) and our in-house freight brokerage, offering complete transportation solutions across Canada and the United States.

We're looking for a true Hunter—someone who is passionate about prospecting, closing new business, and consistently growing revenue.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate new business through cold calling, networking, referrals, walk-in prospecting, and customer visits.
  • Spend a significant portion of your week in the field meeting prospective customers, conducting face-to-face sales calls, and developing new business opportunities.
  • Actively canvass industrial areas, business parks, and shipping facilities to identify and secure new customers.
  • Develop new FTL and LTL opportunities throughout Canada and the U.S.
  • Prepare competitive quotations and respond to customer RFQs and RFPs.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with shippers and logistics decision-makers.
  • Sell both asset-based transportation services and brokerage solutions.
  • Negotiate rates, service agreements, and close profitable business.
  • Maintain an accurate CRM with all prospecting activities, customer meetings, quotations, and follow-up tasks.
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales, activity, and revenue targets.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of transportation sales experience.
  • Strong knowledge of FTL and LTL transportation.
  • Thorough understanding of Canada-wide and Canada–U.S. freight markets, including lanes, pricing, and transit requirements.
  • Proven success in prospecting, generating leads, preparing quotations, responding to RFQs/RFPs, and closing new business.
  • Hunter mentality with a strong desire to win new accounts and grow revenue.
  • Existing book of business/customer relationships is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required to visit and prospect customers.

Performance Expectations:
  • Daily outbound prospecting through calls, emails, and in-person visits.
  • Regular face-to-face meetings with prospective and existing customers.
  • Consistent pipeline growth with measurable sales activity.
  • CRM updates documenting all prospecting efforts, customer meetings, and sales opportunities.
  • Achievement of monthly KPIs for prospecting, quotations submitted, meetings held, and new business secured.

What We Offer:
  • Opportunity to work directly with the CEO.
  • Represent a growing asset-based carrier with a full-service brokerage division.
  • Strong operational support from an experienced dispatch and operations team.
  • Career advancement opportunities within a rapidly expanding company.
  • Professional, performance-driven work environment.
